KASTNER, Philipp Peter. A cowherd at Unterfröschen (Thalfröschen). Son of the carpenter Christian Kästner. Left for Pennsylvania 1763 16 May. Married (1) at Thaleischweiler, 30.X.1759, Catharina Elisabetha, daughter of Hanss Adam Klein, Pottaschebrenner (potash distiller) at Burgalben, Palatinate, and (2) at Thaleischweiler, 27.IV. 1762, Anna Catharina, daughter of the shepherd Friedrich Roth of Hoeheinoed. Both have left for Pennsylvania 1763. Issue of Ist marriage: (1) Johann Jacob, I). at Fröschen, 1 .VIII. 1760. Issue of 2nd marriage: (2) Eva Elisabetha, h. at Fröschen, 5.II.1763. Philip Casner arrived on the ship Chance, 1 Nov. 1763 (S-H I, 685). Philip Casner was listed as an “inmate” (married non- landowner) in the Rate List for Coventry, Chester Co., 1769 (PA-3, XI, 635).
