Ludwig Born, a tailor, was born in 1702 at Rimschweiler, in Zweibruecken. He and his wife Anna Maria, settled at the Swatara, in the present Lebanon county. He was an elder of the Swatara Reformed congregation. On February 12, 1745, Jacob Lichty and Christian Rauch preached in the Swatara church, and went “to Ludwig Born, a Reformed elder of this congregation, to stay over night with him.” In 1749, he joined the Morav¬ian congregation at the Swatara.
