Dirck Jansen (de Groot), from Dithmarschen, was a cooper in New York He was brother of Carsten Jansen Eggert, Greetje Jansen (wife of Jacob Pietersen), and Anneke Jans (wife of Hage Bruynsen).
At the death of his sister, Anneke Jans, in 1661, Dirck was appointed guardian of her son Bruyn Hage, In 1668, Bruyn’s father died, whereupon Dirck Jansen and two others requested the court that they might proceed to administer the estate of Bruynsen.
On July 22, 1677, Dirck Jansen married Rachel Detru (du Trieux), widow of Hendrick Van Bommel, His first wife was Wybrug Jans. By his second wife he had a son, Jan, who was baptized March 27. 1678; a daughter Grietie, who was baptized February S, 1670; again a son, Abraham, baptized April 26. 1682.
