Elsje Jans, from “Breestede” (Bredstedt), a daughter of Jans Jansen and Engeltje Jan van Breestede, came with her parents to New Netherland in 1636. She was married, on May 17, 1643, to Adriaen Petersen van Alcmar, widower of Grietje Pietersen.
