Jan Dircksen, from Bremen, was in New Amsterdam as early as 1639. In 1643 was skipper of a vessel, receiving orders from Kiliaen van Rensselaer. His wife was Tryntie Anders. They belonged to the Dutch Reformed church in New Amsterdam, and had a child baptized in February, 1644 |
